Established in 2002, Wayanad Girijana Seva Trust is a not-for-profit, charitable organization based in Wayanad district of Kerala, India. We are a small and dedicated team of individuals committed to the development of the tribal communities of Wayanad.

Our most important initiative is the education of tribal children. The Vivekananda Residential Tribal School seeks to be a home to the tribal children in Wayanad district. Located in Thondernad panchayat of Wayanad district, the School today provides nourishment, clothing, residence and education to 102 children from the Kurichya, Kadar, Kuruma and Paniya tribes. Presently, the school provides education up to Class VI, based on the Kerala State Government curriculum.

In addition to formal education, the children learn multiple skills to succeed in the context of the changing world order. At the same time, emphasis is also placed on keeping their culture and tradition intact.
